A town with aviation in its DNA
During World War II, Tocumwal Aerodrome was one of the largest and busiest air bases in the southern hemisphere — a staging point for Allied operations across the Pacific. The runways that pilots taxi along today are the same ones that Liberator bombers used eight decades ago.
That history never really left. Tocumwal remains a town that understands aviation — that sees a light aircraft overhead not as a nuisance but as a neighbour.
